Plan Your Stay

A room, or the
whole lodge.

Konamori has nine private ensuite rooms. You can book one of them, or you can book all nine and have the lodge to yourselves — the bar, The Table at Konamori, the sauna and hot tub and the ski room included. Both are normal here. Neither is the exception.

The lodge is open through the winter season — this year, 24 December 2026 – 5 March 2027 — with additional dates added when the snow allows.

Option one

Book a room

A couple, a family, two friends chasing a storm. You'll share the table and the fire with whoever else is here that week — which, most winters, is the part most people rave about afterwards.

The Retreat
Ensuite rooms built for deep rest. Three of the nine.
From ¥36,000 per night
The Loft
Loft rooms with a sleeping platform above — room for a family or a group of friends who'd rather stay together. Six of the nine; the largest sleeps five.
From ¥46,000 per night
Minimum stay
Two nights during the season.

Option two

Take the whole lodge

Four or five families, or a group of friends who've been talking about this trip for years. Nine rooms, one table, nobody else. The lodge stops being a hotel and starts being a house.

Sleeps
Up to 33 across the nine rooms — beds convert between kings and twins to fit the group.
What's included
All nine rooms, the Namazu bar, the dining room, the sauna and hot tub, the ski room, and the lounge — for the length of your stay.
How it works
Tell us the week and roughly how many of you — we'll quote your exact week within a day, hold it while your group settles, and handle one booking rather than nine.
From
¥450,000 per night (about US$3,000), depending on the week and the size of your group.
Best for
Whole weeks, Saturday to Saturday — though we’ll happily talk about shorter.

Getting here

Tokyo to the lodge
in about two and a half hours.

For most international guests, the simplest route is through Tokyo — one of the best-connected cities on earth. Fly into Haneda where you have the choice — it is closer to Tokyo Station. Land in the morning and you can be at the lodge for dinner; land later and a night in Tokyo makes the trip easier.

Tell us your arrival and we will work backwards from it.

By train
Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo. Best option: change at Nagano for the local line to Myoko Kogen, ten minutes from the lodge — we meet every train there. From Iiyama, about 30 minutes away, we run scheduled pick-ups on arrival days, and the Madarao shuttle connects between.
By car
About three and a half hours from Tokyo via the Joshin-etsu Expressway. Winter tyres or chains, always.
By bus
Direct highway coaches run Tokyo → Madarao in season. Slower, cheaper, no changes.
Transfers
Station pick-up from Iiyama or Myoko Kogen; private airport transfers on request.

Before you come

Good to know.

The lodge is being renovated. Work runs through autumn 2026 and finishes before the season opens. The interiors shown across this site are renderings of the completed work, marked as such wherever they appear. Photographs replace them once the building is finished.

Dinner is shared. One table, one sitting — unless you've taken the whole lodge, in which case the table is yours. If you'd rather eat alone, Madarao and Myoko have good places and we'll book you in.

The winter season is short. Roughly late December to mid-March, which is when the snow here is genuinely good rather than merely present. Green-season stays open from 2028.

Rent a vehicle for the full experience. We highly recommend it — vehicles rent quickly and early here, so plan far in advance to make sure one is available.

It's a mountain road. Winter tyres or chains if you drive, and tell us when you're close.

Walk three minutes. Ski until your legs give out. Come back to a fire.
